The Woodlands Fire Department Responds to HVAC Fire at Lexington Apartments

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- At approximately 7:25 AM this morning, The Woodlands Fire Department (TWFD) responded to a report of smoke filling an apartment at the Lexington Apartments, located at 12000 Sawmill Road.

Engine 103 was first on the scene and quickly determined that the smoke originated from a malfunctioning HVAC unit, which had caused a small smoldering fire inside the wall. Firefighters promptly opened the affected wall and extinguished the fire, preventing further spread. Thanks to their swift response, damage was contained to the HVAC closet, and no injuries were reported.

TWFD received assistance from the South Montgomery County Fire Department and Montgomery County Hospital District during the response.
