San Jacinto County Inmate Fatally Shot in Officer-Involved Shooting at Kingwood Hospital; No Ongoing Threat

KINGWOOD, TX -- This evening, a San Jacinto County Sheriff's Deputy was involved in an officer-involved shooting at the Kingwood Hospital near the Montgomery County line. The suspect, who was an inmate in the custody of San Jacinto County, is deceased, and there is no ongoing threat to the public. The Houston Police Department is leading the investigation and has requested assistance from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Doolittle will also visit the scene this evening to provide any necessary support.
