Shadow Puppet Theatre is an introduction to storytelling elements that allow readers and audience to interact directly with each other.

Get ready for The Ready Woodlands Emergency Prep Event today from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Woodlands Township. This free community event is designed to help you and your family prepare for emergencies. Learn valuable information and access resources to better prepare for hurricanes and other emergencies. Connect with local organizations and agencies to develop a personalized emergency preparedness plan. The event is organized by The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Services, which will be giving away mini lanterns to each family while supplies last. Activities include hands-only CPR training, building a personal first-aid kit, practicing fire extinguisher use, simulating a 9-1-1 emergency call, and a scavenger hunt with prizes for completing preparedness tasks. Friends of Texas Wildlife’s fourth annual open house will be the only time this year their facility will be open to the public for tours. In addition, there will be lots of outside organizations to visit with. No advance tickets required, stop by any time 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Visit their education center for lots of hand-on learning; tour their intake center, treatment room, and wildlife care facility; see where injured birds of prey are rehabilitated by viewing their 100 flight enclosure; visit with and learn about all of their educational animals (hawks; owls; opossum; skunk; snakes; turtles); meet wildlife rehabilitators and hear more about their mission, and view displays and learn about other wildlife and nature groups. Rain or shine! $5 per person (kids 3 and under free).
