84-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot in Cleveland Home; Suspect in Custody

CLEVELAND, TX -- On March 21, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting at a residence in the 1200 block of Hales Drive in Cleveland. An 84-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit, along with Crime Scene Investigators, and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office are currently on-scene conducting their investigation.

60-year-old Tim Ray Knowlton was taken into custody at the scene and is charged with Murder.

Preliminary findings suggest that a physical altercation occurred between an elderly male and female living at the residence. During the incident, the female's son produced a firearm and shot the male.

This incident is considered isolated and involves only the residents of the home; there is no threat to the public at this time.
