**UPDATE** MCTXSheriff Investigates Shooting on Hilltop Drive at White Oak Orchard

CONROE, TX -- On April 14, 2025, detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit arrested and charged 22-year-old Oscar Adalid Salmeron with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon in connection with the shooting of Israel Ojeda-Mendoza.

Salmeron is currently in custody at the Montgomery County Jail. The victim, Mr. Ojeda-Mendosa remains in critical condition at this time.

On March 24, 2025, at approximately 11:30 a.m., deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of Hilltop Drive and White Oak Orchard in Conroe, Texas.

Deputies discovered a 22-year-old-male had been shot at that location. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is currently in critical condition.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit, Gang Investigations Unit, and Crime Scene Investigators are currently on-scene conducting their investigation.

This is an active situation and detectives are currently interviewing witnesses to gather the facts surrounding this incident.
