THE WOODLANDS, TX -- At approximately 8:20 p.m. this evening, The Woodlands Fire Department Engine 106 and Needham Fire & Rescue/Montgomery County ESD#4 Truck 61 were struck while responding to an earlier collision on I-45 South at Exit 76/Woodlands Parkway.

The original incident involved a single-vehicle collision with a barricade. While firefighters were attending to the occupants of the initial vehicle, a second accident occurred when another vehicle collided with Truck 61. Shortly afterward, a third vehicle struck Engine 106 after impacting the second vehicle.

Fortunately, no public safety personnel were injured during either incident. However, the drivers involved in the second crash were transported to a local hospital by the Montgomery County Hospital District for further evaluation.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding both accidents. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and Shenandoah Police Department provided critical assistance at the scene.
