Temperance and moderation are the buzzwords this weekend as the weather decides to play nice for us in The Woodlands.

We’ve already hit our high of 96 today – along with a soul-crushing humidity index making it feel like 108 – under bright, sunny skies, and we’ll stay in the 90s until nightfall and in the 80s until the middle of the night under clear skies. But at the same time, the winds will kick up and hang around all weekend. Ironically, you can make things hotter indoors by hitting Hot Latin Dance Night at Como Social Club.

Coming out of our overnight low of 77, Saturday will be another bright and hot one, with the thermostat rapidly climbing into the upper 90s and the heat index hitting 110, so no matter what you do outdoors, stay hydrated and wear proper clothing and sunscreen. The winds will remain constant out of the southwest all day and night, averaging between 5 and 8 miles per hour. In the afternoon, the pressure will drop noticeably, and it just might bring some clouds with it. Hopefully the skies will remain semi-charmed as Third Eye Blind takes the stage at the Pavilion for one rocking outdoor concert.

From Saturday into Sunday, we’ll make it down to 76 for our low under more cloudy skies and possibly some drops of light rain. As Sunday morning dawns, we’ll still feel some dampness in the air with the slightest chance of a lingering shower. But partly cloudy skies and continuing breezes will see you through the day as the high makes it up to 94, with a much cooler heat index of 104, all things being relative. Late in the afternoon we might get a swell of clouds and some more droplets, but nothing to dampen your weekend. Have fun partying like it’s 1999 with the Y2K Brunch at Ale & Ivy.

As you bed down for another Monday, you can look forward to a week of near-100 temperatures, sunny skies, and precious little moisture…

Stay tuned to Woodlands Online for Monday’s weekly weather forecast.
