Opening this Friday – Activate - The Woodlands: a new game facility that’s all reality

There’s a new gaming facility coming to town, and this one is guaranteed to bring you fun and exercise in equal amounts. Activate - The Woodlands is no passive or VR game setup. Instead, it’s a fully immersive real-room experience where you throw your entire body into the process.

Activate, located at 536 Sawdust Rd, Suite C (where the Pump It Up used to be at Budde Rd), is billed as ‘the world’s first active gaming facility,’ where participants jump, climb, problem-solve and laugh as they move between challenges. Each dynamic game room has interactive technology that reacts in real time, ensuring an adrenaline-filled adventure.

“Activate isn’t a black and white experience. Every decision is yours to make, giving you the ability to create a custom action-packed pursuit. We simply provide the space, you color in the rest,” said Activate in a statement.

Staff encourage you to book your room session in advance. From there, the process is simple:
Select a room – Start by selecting your favorite micro-arena. You can stay put or try all the rooms. It’s up to you.
Pick a game – Each room has a variety of high tech games, lasting around 1-3 minutes each. Read the description and choose your adventure.
Choose Your Difficulty – Make it hard, or take it easy. Difficulty levels range from 1-10, unlocking as you beat them. The more you play, the better you;ll get.
Enter The Game – It’s go-time. Open the door to your chosen game experience and the challenge that awaits. Give it your all until time runs out.

Activate is with a selection of interactive light-up game rooms designed to test your physical and mental agility. Game room options include Hide, Strike, Hoops, Grid, Laser, Mega Grid, Press, Portals, and Control.

Activate is open Mondays through Thursdays 10 a.m. - 10 p.m., Fridays 10 a.m. - 11 p.m., Saturdays 9 a.m. - 11 p.m., and Sundays 9 a.m. - 10 p.m. Pricing is $24.99 Mondays through Thursdays and $29.99 on Fridays, Saturdays, and holidays.
