La Madeleine at Market Street closes

Among the shock news that TRIS abruptly closed its doors at the announced resignation of Chef Austin Simmons, reports also came in that La Madleine, the French bakery at Market Street, also closed down. No explanation was given for the shuttering, but on the same day at least two other La Madeleines -- one in San Antonio and one in Salt Lake City -- also ceased operations. Also unlike TRIS, La Madeleine has two other locations still operating within easy driving distance; one in Conroe and one in Spring.
