Resolve to be water wise in 2025
7 resolutions that will help you save money and save water in the new year.
1. Check your water bill. A sudden spike in water use or steady use over time, especially through the night, can mean you have a leak. WaterSmart makes it easy to identify. Sign up now if you haven't already.
2. Go native. Native plants tend to require less water AND they support beneficial insects like pollinators. Check out Woodlands Water's list of natives (50% rebates are available!)
3. Reduce your shower by 1 just minute. Even with a low-flow head, this will save a thousand gallons a year.
4. Wash fruits & vegetables in a pan of water instead of running under the tap.
5. Avoid hosing off the driveway. Use a broom or blower. A standard hose uses 17 gallons a minute.
6. Recycle. It takes ALOT more water to produce products from virgin material than recycled material.
7. Teach children the value of water, our most precious resource.
