Elevated to Critical Fire Weather Conditions Expected Today... Elevated to critical fire weather conditions are expected across the large majority of Southeast Texas. Skies have cleared, temperatures have warmed into the 70s and low 80s, humidities have fallen into the teens and low 20s, and west winds are gusting between 25-40mph. Wind speeds and gustiness should diminish after sunset. Though winds will not be as strong on Sunday, elevated fire weather conditions will still prevail as humidity falls back into the teens and 20s during the late morning and afternoon hours. RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITIES FOR MOST OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS... * WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 16 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Up to 82. * IMPACTS...Any fires that start could rapidly increase in size and intensity, and move quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
