Scratch Basic Robotics Course (Ages 6+)

Course Overview:
This beginner-friendly course introduces young learners to the basics of programming and robotics using Scratch. Kids will explore hands-on projects, learning to build circuits, program sensors, and create interactive games—all while having fun! KIDS GET TO TAKE ALL THE ROBOTICS HARDWARE EQUIPMENT HOME at no extra charge. Every kid gets their personal kit—no sharing required.

EXAMPLE PROJECTS:
• Christmas Lights Project: Create a colorful LED sequence.
• Blinking Lights with a Switch: Program LEDs to blink using a switch.
• Mini-Piano: Build a musical instrument with touch sensors.
• Highway Toll System: Design a toll system with sensors.
• Sunrise Alarm: Program an LED alarm mimicking the sunrise.
• Pong Game: Code and play the classic arcade game.
• Apple Catcher with a Joystick: Use a joystick to control an apple-catching game.
• Flappy Bird Game: Create and play your version of Flappy Bird.

CHILD OUTCOMES:

By the end of the course, children will:
• Understand how sensors, inputs, and outputs function in robotics.
• Learn basic circuit concepts, including the importance of ground (GND).
• Use Scratch to write code that controls lights, sounds, and motors.
• Build and use joysticks, exploring X & Y axes and positive/negative values.
• Grasp the fundamentals of video game mechanics by coding simple games.
• Develop problem-solving and creative thinking skills through hands-on projects.
