Python Advanced Robotics Course (Ages 11+)
Course Overview:
In this advanced course, students with prior Python experience will delve into hardware integration with Raspberry Pico and explore more complex robotics projects and games. They’ll tackle advanced programming concepts, create dynamic displays, and build innovative circuits. KIDS GET TO TAKE ALL THE ROBOTICS HARDWARE EQUIPMENT HOME at no extra charge. Every kid gets their personal kit—no sharing required.
EXAMPLE PROJECTS:
• Asteroids (PYGAME200): Develop a fast-paced game with dynamic objects and collisions.
• Display Text on the Screen (PYSCREEN001): Learn to interface with an OLED screen and display text dynamically.
• Display Dial Switch Value (PYSCREEN002): Connect a dial to a microcontroller and display its real-time value.
• Displaying Distance Sensor on Screen (PYSCREEN003): Show ultrasonic sensor measurements on an OLED display.
• Pong Game on Mini-OLED Screen (PYSCREEN004): Create and play Pong using button inputs.
• Joystick with Lights (PROJ121): Use a joystick to control LEDs while learning X and Y axis concepts.
• Space Invaders Game (PYGAME201): Build a space shooter game with collision detection and advanced mechanics.
• Lists in Python (PYBASICS111): Master list operations like adding, editing, and updating data.
• Dictionaries in Python (PYBASICS112): Explore how to work with dictionaries for managing key-value pairs.
CHILD OUTCOMES:
By the end of the course, students will:
• Integrate Python programming with hardware devices, including Raspberry Pico and sensors.
• Gain experience in interfacing with OLED screens for dynamic displays.
• Learn advanced robotics concepts, including analog inputs, X & Y axis control, and sensor integration.
