Summary: The Accounting Specialist for Contributions is primary responsibility is to support the Contributions function within the Accounting Office. This role works in collaboration with central staff and in alignment with The Woodlands Methodist Church’s mission to reach people for Jesus Christ, disciple them in faith, and help those in need.  

Essential Functions: 

• Providing customer service to donors regarding contribution transactions and records.
• Counting and depositing of funds received into the Accounting Office
• Recording of contributions into donor records in the church’s management system.
• Entering pledges from capital campaigns and annual stewardship/missions pledge drives.
• Coordination of Accounting Office volunteers.
• Providing administrative support to the Accounting office.
• Assisting other areas of Accounting as needed.

• Reports to: Assistant Controller
• Position Type: Part-time, hourly
• Schedule: up to 29 hours / week; Monday mornings required
• Compensation: Dependent on experience
• Benefits: Not benefits eligible

• Computer / database proficiency
• Attention to detail, time management, organization, confidentiality, oral and written communications, customer service, teamwork and administration
• 2+ years accounting and / or bookkeeping experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proficiency in Excel and various accounting software

Physical Demands:

• This position requires sitting, standing, and reaching.
