Part-Time Food Rescue Operations Coordinator
Qualifications
• Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills
• Professional demeanor and ability to work with all types of personnel
• Ability to anticipate needs of the organization and creatively solve problems
• Ability to work from home with access to reliable internet connection and telephone service with limited day-to-day supervision
• Demonstrated experience in learning and utilizing new computer software or online applications.
• Lives within Montgomery County, Texas or surrounding areas and possesses ability to travel within the county, as needed. A reliable mode of transportation is required.
• Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Word or PowerPoint
• Experience with Microsoft Excel in data management and report generation
• Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States with no sponsorship requirement
Responsibilities
• Under direction of the Program Coordinators, organize and staff event schedules for 100 plus Volunteers, 20 Donor and 35 Recipient organizations
• Monitor Volunteer registration and ensure gaps in coverage are resolved via email, text or telephone calls to ensure appropriate staffing of daily food recovery events
• Coordinate outreach efforts to new sources of volunteers
• Assist in the volunteer onboarding process and develop new training methods as needed
• Deliver and collect volunteer equipment
• Make visits to recipient organizations and donor locations as needed
• Validate daily Volunteer Event impacts
• Manage incoming emails and telephone calls within established guidelines
• Competently provide back up to the Program Coordinators, as directed
• Coordinate work and priorities with other KUSF volunteers and employees
• Additional related duties, as assigned
Work Schedule
During onboarding and training, expected to last about 8 weeks, approximately 25-29 hours per week is expected. During normal business operations, the work schedule would be approximately 20-29 hours.
While many items are not time sensitive, most time sensitive items are in the morning between the hours of 8am and 11am and the employee is expected to be available. The employee is expected to handle occasional evening, weekend, and work on holidays to maintain full coverage of Events in upcoming days and/or to handle time sensitive items.
Work Location
This is a remote position conducting business primarily via a computer and telephone in the employee’s home office in Montgomery County, TX. During initial on-boarding and training, or for on-going training, and regular job duties, local travel will be required, including onsite visits to Donors or Recipients with Volunteers. Physical demands are primarily within home office or standard office conditions. Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds may be required.
During the interview process, qualified candidates must be able to attend a “shadow run” of one of our experienced volunteers at a local food donation pick up and delivery. About 90 minutes of their time will be required.
Compensation
This position is eligible for earnings of $20 per hour.
This position is not eligible for health and welfare benefits. Approved meetings with volunteers, recipients, donors, and staff are eligible for mileage reimbursement.

Keep US Fed Montgomery County, Texas (“KUSF”) is searching for a part-time paid Operations Coordinator employee to provide support to the non-profit organization. KUSF receives food donations from local grocery stores, restaurants, and schools and transports them free of charge to nonprofits who meet the needs of the food insecure in our county.
