MONTGOMERY, TX -- Texas Senator Brandon Creighton addressed The North Shore Republican Women this past Wednesday at the Bentwater Country Club. NSRW President Leigh Billingsley welcomed Creighton along with District Attorney Brett Ligon, and other Republican Elected Officials and Candidates, to the luncheon to show their support to the candidates on the homestretch to the 2024 General Elections in November. The NSRW Ladies filled the ballroom with a Sea of Red, and with equal enthusiasm cheered on the GOP candidates as they were announced. The ladies are involved with many charitable efforts in the area such as promoting literacy in schools, helping Senior Citizens at the Friendship Center in Willis, preparing toiletry bags for charities that assist the homeless; as well as providing scholarships to deserving students, and providing backpacks of food to hungry kids, and donating funds to the MC Food Bank.

Senator Creighton, is the Chairman of the Texas Senate Committee on Education, which oversees K-12 and Higher Education across the state. It was previously split into three committees, including finance, but Lt. Governor Dan Patrick entrusted Brandon to combine all three committees into one. Creighton is highly regarded and is currently leading the statewide Victory effort for the Republican Party of Texas. He is consistently ranked one of the most conservative members in the Texas Senate.

The Senator mentioned the Biden Administration and its frustration with Texas Republicans, defying White House orders to supersede the US Border Patrol in seizing Shelby Park, placing the Texas Army National Guard at the water’s edge, to stem the flow of illegal immigrants into The State. And it has worked. Creighton commended the writers of the Texas Constitution, and its avoidance of a full-time legislature, only allowing a five-month period every biennial (two years), for the conducting of legislative business. Another built-in backstop is a 60 day-pause on normal business in a legislative session, before any bills can be voted on. Creighton noted Abbott’s emergency items during the 2023 session, such as cutting property taxes, ending COVID-19 restrictions “forever,” expanding school choice, making schools safer, ending “revolving-door” bail policies, securing the state’s border with Mexico and cracking down on fentanyl.

Senator Creighton called Montgomery County an ‘island,’ noting our area in reference to the Texas Grid, with its split with Entergy and Reliant, but he stressed the importance of The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), to remain free from the hands of Washington politicians like Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, who has called for ERCOT to be disbanded and become part of the national grid.

“Why in The World would AOC talk about The Texas Grid?” said Creighton, before noting that AOC and Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo are good friends, and share the same NYC marketing company.

Texas is building its own Gold Depository in order to avoid $40 million dollar annual fees required to store the precious metal. Creighton noted that those who store their gold in the depository will be able to use a debit card based on the value of their deposits. The idea is just another slap in the face to East Coast institutions who are failing to account for good governance causing states like Texas to go elsewhere to account for their state business.

Creighton praised the Texas Grid with improvements such as better sensors and winterization projects to better account for the performance of the grid during the most recent Polar Vortexes. Brandon explained the synergy during the covid years between the economy, grid, schools, the work force and the border, and overcoming the detriment of national and international policy that it has placed on the States. He noted the decrepit state of American education, and how world leaders like Vladimir Putin are cheering on the national teachers unions and Democrats in allowing American schools to fail our students with inadequate educations.

Creighton brought up the recent lawlessness going on in our university campuses, which he called “A test run,” for further chaos when school starts back up after summer, and especially as the build up to the November elections nears. Brandon receives Department of Public Safety reports about radical organizing such as with the Gaza protesters on colleges and universities, and it should worry all of us. There is a concern in public K-12 schools, where of six million students, 83% are performing below grade level, with some two grades below. Students cannot be failed by their teachers and administrators, and at some point a tough love policy is gonna need to be implemented.

“Texas doesn’t want to lead the nation in fast food job creation,” said Creighton. “We want to lead the nation in job creation across all pay scales and economic sectors. We want to be the standard, and best practices.”

As a way of countering the madness which distracts students from learning, Creighton led the Texas Senate to ban Critical Race Theory, Diversity Equity and Inclusion offices, reducing chances for the curriculum to be hijacked by leftist faculty senate governance committees, and ensure university regents are made aware of who they are hiring to work in their schools.

“We must take back our classrooms and university campuses,” said the Senator, “It is up to us, and up to Republican women to do your part to make a difference. Please keep doing what you are doing.”
