THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Montgomery County Food Bank held its third annual Outrun Hunger fun run presented by Waste Connections, on June 8, 2024 at Grand Central Park in Conroe, Texas. Proceeds from Outrun Hunger will provide close to 205,000 meals for children, families and seniors facing hunger throughout Montgomery County.

Outrun Hunger featured a timed 5K trail run and a 1K color dash with a record-breaking 465 participants. The fun continued beyond the finish line, where runners and walkers enjoyed the event’s Party Pavilion, consisting of food trucks, a kids zone, DJ, and more.

Outrun Hunger participants were also given the opportunity to fundraise on behalf of the Food Bank leading up to the event. The top team fundraiser was Better Bookkeepers. Their team raised $1,000 to benefit the Food Bank and the many people it serves. Top individual fundraiser was Grace Manes, who raised $236.

"The achievements of this year's event were made possible thanks to our enthusiastic runners, walkers, dedicated volunteers and generous sponsors," said Kristine Marlow, President and CEO of Montgomery County Food Bank. "As the need for food assistance remains high, the outpouring of compassion and backing from our community has been truly inspiring. Together, we are stronger in the fight against hunger.”
