THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce won first place honors for its 90th anniversary video in the annual Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE) “Media Awards.” It received the award during TCCE’s annual conference in Galveston earlier this summer.

“We are excited that the judges recognized the hard work that went into creating this historical video,” said Steve Scheffler, Director of Marketing & Communications with the Chamber. “They specifically commented on the quality of transitions within the video, along with the high level of detail that makes the video compelling.”

The video, which was produced in documentary style, highlights the Chamber’s beginnings in 1934, along with the symbiotic growth of Conroe, Montgomery County, and the Chamber across the ensuing decades.

“One of the themes in the video is how involved the Chamber has been in major projects, events and traditions of our community,” said Scott Harper, Chamber President. “The Chamber has been a driving force in the creation of Lake Conroe, the airport, the Montgomery County Fair Association, and Leadership Montgomery County, to name just a few.”

The Chamber engaged two of its members to help put the video together, including Nick Plunk, videographer with Plunk Productions, and Tim Johnson, general manager with Huntsville’s KSAM 101.7. Johnson provided the video’s narration.

The video was recognized in TCCE’s Division 4 – competing among the largest chambers of commerce in the state.

The video is accessible on the Chamber YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/ihV9CylTjTM and on the home page of the Chamber’s web site at www.conroe.org.
