THE WOODLANDS, TX – Recently, volunteers from Waste Connections purchased 3,000 paper bags and spent hours filling them with ready-to-eat meals for Montgomery County seniors and food-insecure individuals.

Susan Netherton, Senior Vice President of People, Training, and Development – as well as a Montgomery County Meals on Wheels board member – helped spearhead the event at the Waste Management corporate offices. Thousands of paper bags were adorned with drawings and inspirational messages by students. The sacks were then filled with food that didn’t require cooking or special preparation, then distributed to thousands of hungry individuals, most of them senior citizens.

This latest shining example of the community spirit and relationship between Waste Connections and Meals on Wheels comes on the heels of the former’s recent $75,000 donation to the latter, courtesy of the 2024 WC Golf Classic For Kids.
