CONROE, TX -- The Montgomery County Hospital District Board of Directors voted to drop the tax rate for the 22nd consecutive year. By adopting a rate of $0.0497 per $100 valuation for Fiscal Year 2025, tax revenue is budgeted to be $50,840,782, which is an increase of 10.0% compared to Fiscal Year 2024 Forecast.

Budgeted revenue over expenses is expected to be a deficit of $7,690,565.

MCHD Chief Financial Officer Brett Allen said, “MCHD is budgeting a deficit for next fiscal year; thus, spending reserve funds on the purchase of new ambulances and equipment while still meeting the goal of maintaining a minimum of three months of operating reserves.”

The Board of the Montgomery County Hospital District sets the tax rate after receiving the Tax Rate Comparison Report, which is based on the Certified Tax Roll, from the Montgomery County Tax Assessor/Collector.
