THE WOODLANDS, TX – On any given weekend, there are so many amazing events for all ages throughout The Woodlands area that it may be hard to cull through them all to find one that’s specifically family friendly. Not to worry; Woodlands Online is here to help with a list of some things you can do this weekend with the entire family.

Friday

Bring Your Own Board Game Night at The Adventure Begins
Have a board game you just can't find the group for? Need to find a new board game for your collection? Come on out to Bring Your Own Board Game Night and find a new playgroup every Friday!

Open Gym Night at Maximum Athletics
This Open Gym night is the perfect time for your child to expend some energy after a long week at school. At Open Gym night your child can participate in games and open gym time. This is a great time to learn a new skill....AND have some fun! Maximum Athletics’ Open Gym night lasts 2.5 hours, from 7:30 pm to 10:00 p.m. (unless otherwise stated). You DO NOT have to be enrolled in a class to participate in this event. Ages 5 & up.

Slurpees & Sirens hosted by The Woodlands Township
Beat the heat with delicious Slurpees at the 7-Eleven at 26628 Kuykendahl Road from 4 to 6 p.m. Kids Slurpees are free! Members of law enforcement and fire and rescue will be there to visit and chat with Woodlands residents.

Family Movie Night at Rob Fleming Amphitheatre
Join the fun for Family Movie Night filled with laughter, family bonding and great memories. Enjoy a classic family movie, appropriate for all ages, outdoors at the Rob Fleming Amphitheatre. Concessions available for purchase. Feel free to bring blankets, chairs, and coolers. No glass allowed. Movie times vary based on sunset.

Glow in the Park at Treeventures
Ever thought about how exciting a nighttime climb could be? Elevate your family night at Texas TreeVentures with a 3-hour adventure where the course is illuminated from below, giving you an entirely new perspective! All children (ages 6 - 12) require an adult (18+) to climb with them one-on-one. Ticket purchase required for all Adult Monitor climbers. Tickets are $50 per person regardless of age.


Saturday

Pix on the Plaza at City Place
On September 21 starting at 7:30 p.m., Pix on The Plaza will showcase an outdoor screening of the classic family film, Matilda. Complimentary slices of the movie’s famous “Bruce Bogtrotter’s Chocolate Fudge Cake” will be available while supplies last. Blankets and low profile chairs are welcome.

Kids Nite Out / Operations Pets Alive Fundraiser at Woodlands Sportsplex
It’s a fun-filled evening at the Woodlands Sportsplex for a special Kids Nite Out benefiting Operation Pets Alive! Kids aged 5 to 12 will enjoy games, activities, and pizza while parents enjoy a night off. The cost is $30 (includes pizza). All proceeds will support Operation Pets Alive, a local non-profit dedicated to saving homeless pets. Don’t miss this chance to have fun while supporting a great cause. ‘Kid-preneur’ Pop-Up Shop at Learning Express Toys of The Woodlands
Come to Learning Express for their upcoming 'Kid-preneur' Pop-Up Shop from 12 - 2 p.m. Young entrepreneurs from the community will have the chance to showcase and sell their handcrafted products, including toys, jewelry, arts & crafts, dog treats, sports cards, slime, and more.

Pirate ‘n’ Mermaid Day at The Woodlands Children’s Museum
Board The Children’s Museum version of the Jolly Roger and keep a close eye out for treasure and mermaids during Pirate ‘n’ Mermaid Day! Land-ho; let’s navigate our way through the museum with our best peg-legs and fancy tails to find the hidden treasure! Ariel Meet ‘n Greets at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. Pirate Meet ‘n Greets at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. This event is included in the price of admission, which is $9 for adults and children 1 year and older.


Sunday

Wildlife Education Workshop at City Place
Come to City Place for an exciting adventure as you dive into the wild world of the Houston Humane Society Wildlife Center! In this engaging kids’ program, you’ll discover the lives of native wildlife and how the center cares for them. Through interactive activities and fun facts, children will learn how to become wildlife heroes and help protect our animal friends. Each workshop includes a surprise animal ambassador meet-and-greet! Workshop times are 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. - 11:45 a.m.

All Ages ‘Spooky Buddies’ Session at Painting with a Twist
Children and adults are invited to join in the painting fun at Family Day/All Ages Classes. If your child is painting and you choose not to participate, you are welcome to sit with them, provided there is available seating. Let Creativity Flow, Encourage Independence! Join for an unforgettable painting experience, where laughter, colors, and memories blend seamlessly. Let’s create art, cherish moments, and make this Family Day Painting Class a masterpiece of joy!

Concert in The Park at Northshore Park

Concert in the Park is a popular family tradition of music and fun for all ages! Concert in the Park features local bands playing a variety of favorites from pop and rock to country. Not only does Retro Radio Band take the stage tonight, but adults and kiddos alike can swing by The Woodlands Township tent for sidewalk chalk, while supplies last, and let your imagination do the rest! Sno-cones are available for purchase at all concerts thanks to Kona Ice North Houston.
