Kailee Mills Foundation ends 2024 with a successful gala, has major plans for 2025
THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Kailee Mills Foundation – a nonprofit organization that promotes seat belt safety for teens – ended 2024 with its 4th annual Buckled in Black Gala, presented by The Law Office of D’Ann Hinkle, as a roaring success, raising $293,000.
“We will forever remember the overwhelming gratitude that will allow us to make an even greater difference. God is hard at work, and it shows through each and every one of you. We can continue to serve the needs of others because of your gracious support. Our sincere gratitude goes out to you,” said David Mills, father of the young woman who perished in an auto accident, and co-founder of the foundation, whose mission is to reduce fatality and injury from non-seat belt use, while also providing financial and emotional support to families experiencing loss and hardship from vehicle crashes.
Already, Mills has his eyes on the new year, with several programs and events planned to last through the year. Next on the agenda is a Charity Breakfast at Truluck’s in The Woodlands on January 22nd, from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Participants can enjoy a delicious buffet-style breakfast, connect with the foundation’s team, and join them in prayer as they set intentions for the year ahead. All ticket proceeds will go directly to supporting the Kailee Mills Foundation's lifesaving programs.
After that is the wildly successful annual Galentine’s Purse Bingo Event, taking place on Thursday, February 13 at 602 Venue on Pruitt Road. Join the fun for an exciting evening featuring designer bags, door prizes, a photo booth, a raffle, and more. Enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres and charcuterie table from Del Frisco’s. VIP Tables and Sponsors will also receive light bites on their table. There will be additional food, beer, wine, champagne and soft drinks available for purchase.
For the springtime, Kailee Mills Foundation’s 6th annual charity golf tournament will be held at Blackhorse Golf Club on Thursday, April 10. This two-course, four-man scramble tournament has a shotgun start at 9 a.m. ‘Goodies’ will include player gift bags, breakfast and lunch, complimentary bag drop, complimentary Bloody Mary bar, a silent and live auction, gun raffle, and awards.
The year will end much like it began, with the 5th annual Buckled in Black Gala bringing the excitement of the Kentucky Derby to life while supporting the impactful work of the Kailee Mills Foundation. Save the date to don your finest Derby attire and enjoy an evening of inspiration as you gather to celebrate the incredible support of our community. Guests will experience live and silent auctions, engaging entertainment, and more at this premier fundraising event of the year, which will take place on Saturday, November 1, at The Revaire in Houston.
In the midst of all this, the foundation’s annual scholarship drive is already underway, with submissions for applications open until March 15. The foundation awards numerous scholarships to students across the United States each year. The scholarship awards vary in range but could be up to $20,000. All applicants must show academic achievement and help to spread seat belt safety awareness in their community.
