Broadcasting Texas and Quanah Productions unite again to tackle suicide and fentanyl crises
THE WOODLANDS, TX – In an unprecedented collaboration, Broadcasting Texas, a non-profit dedicated to tackling critical social issues, has partnered with the acclaimed production company Quanah Productions and award-winning director Gary Parker to create a transformative film addressing the growing crises of suicide and fentanyl overdose. This powerful cinematic project aims to save lives by fostering awareness, breaking stigmas, and inspiring action.
Following the success of their recent projects, the feature film Reunion and the documentary Shattered in Real Life, Broadcasting Texas and Quanah Productions are proud to announce their continued collaboration on two transformative projects addressing the growing crises of suicide and fentanyl use. The centerpiece of this initiative is Cindy's Silence, a powerful feature film directed by award-winning filmmaker Gary Parker of Quanah Productions. The film delves deep into the emotional and societal impacts of suicide and substance abuse, shedding light on the personal struggles and resilience of those affected.
Complementing the film is Shattering the Silence, a compelling series of documentaries spearheaded by Justin Woods, President of Broadcasting Texas. These documentaries will focus on real-life stories from individuals and families who have lost loved ones to suicide and fentanyl overdose. By amplifying these voices, the series aims to foster awareness, break stigmas, and provide a platform for understanding and prevention.
“This partnership isn’t just about creating impactful films—it’s about sparking meaningful conversations and saving lives,” said Justin Woods. “Through storytelling, we aim to transform pain into purpose and heartbreak into hope.”
Gary Parker added, “At Quanah Productions, we believe in the power of film to drive change. With Cindy’s Silence and Shattering the Silence, we are committed to tackling these critical issues and creating resources that resonate deeply with audiences.”
This initiative follows the team’s successful collaboration on Reunion, a narrative film addressing distracted driving, and its accompanying documentary, Shattered in Real Life, which highlighted the devastating impact of preventable tragedies. Together, these projects underscore Broadcasting Texas and Quanah Productions’ shared commitment to using film and storytelling as tools for social change.
The projects are currently in the fundraising phase, with community support being vital to bringing this vision to life. Donations will fund production, research, and distribution, ensuring these life-saving messages reach as many people as possible. To contribute or learn more about these projects, visit www.broadcastingtexas.org.
