Entergy Texas offices in The Woodlands filled with volunteers for meal-packing event
THE WOODLANDS, TX – Dozens of volunteers at Entergy Texas took over a large conference room inside their Woodlands Service Center, blasted the stereo at full volume, and spent hours packaging meals for the countless families that are – unbelievably in this day and age – unable to say where their next meals will come from.
With a project designed to further honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Entergy Texas partnered with The Pack Shack to pack 10,000 healthy meals for families facing food insecurity. The meals will be distributed by the Montgomery County Food Bank as part of Entergy Texas’ ongoing efforts to give back to the community and support local families in need.
Kristine Marlow, President of the Montgomery County Food Bank, told the assembled workers what their efforts would do to alleviate hunger in the area.
Stuart Barrett, vice president of customer service for Entergy Texas, was delighted at the turnout of volunteers to the event. “We are excited to be part of the community. We give back all the time, so we figured out a way we could partner with The Pack Shack and MCFB to feed the needy and food insecure. Today is a great way to have fun while we’re doing it,” he said. “Given rising prices and inflation, there’s more and more people that need help. As members of the community, Entergy is here all the time to do what we can.”
