SAN JACINTO COUNTY, TX -- On Friday, January 24, 2025, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homeland Security Mobile Command Center supported the Office of Emergency Management during a hazardous 18-wheeler wreck in San Jacinto County, Texas. The crash, which occurred in the early morning hours, resulted in the leakage of noxious gases and lasted for approximately 18 hours. Responding agencies included Montgomery County OEM, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Mobile Command Center, and high-water airboat teams, along with the supporting logistics and personnel.

Under the guidance of Unified Command, the decision was made to deploy the airboats to help disperse the hazardous gases, allowing wreckers to safely approach and upright the truck. This operation also enabled crews to resolve both the leak and the wreck while facilitating the Texas Department of Public Safety’s investigation.
