UPDATE: MCTXSheriff Investigates Shooting at The Goose’s Acre Pub in the Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The investigation into the shooting that took place at The Goose's Acre on February 23, 2025, continued throughout the weekend. Detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Division interviewed over 40 witnesses early Sunday morning to piece together what occurred.

The suspect in this case has been identified as Calvin Rudi Sanders, a 27-year-old male from Houston, Texas.

The motive for the shooting appears to stem from a verbal altercation between Sanders and another male patron at the bar. This verbal exchange escalated into a physical confrontation, during which Sanders pulled out a handgun and fired, hitting his intended target and injuring two others who were nearby. Bystanders subsequently restrained Sanders until law enforcement arrived.

Sanders is currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail, facing three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. His bond has been set at $300,000.
