CONROE, TX -- On March 27, 2025, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to a disturbance in the 11900 block of Crystal Creek, Conroe, involving David Garcia and his girlfriend, Anna Nunez. Witnesses reported that Mr. Garcia assaulted Ms. Nunez, forcibly removing her from the residence and placing her in a Volkswagen Beetle before fleeing the scene prior to law enforcement's arrival. Deputies located the vehicle in the area; however, it fled when spotted. Deputies pursued the vehicle but lost contact in a construction zone on Highway 105.

Due to the circumstances, a CLEAR (Coordinated Law Enforcement Adult Rescue) Alert was activated through the Texas Department of Public Safety. The CLEAR Alert is designed to assist law enforcement in locating and rescuing missing, kidnapped, or abducted adults, as well as adults in immediate danger of injury or death, and to aid in identifying potential suspects.

Further investigation by Deputies and Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit led to the safe recovery of Ms. Nunez and the arrest of Mr. Garcia at a hotel in the City of Conroe. Ms. Nunez was transported to the local area hospital for evaluation. Mr. Garcia was arrested and charged with Kidnapping, Evading Arrest with a Motor Vehicle, and Assault Causing Bodily Injury (Family Violence).

Sheriff Doolittle states, "The swift actions taken in this case reflect the dedication of law enforcement in Montgomery County. From the initial response by our Patrol Deputies to the work of our Major Crimes Unit and the crucial support of MOCONET, Dispatch, and the Real Time Crime Center, this was a true team effort. We also appreciate the vital assistance provided by the Conroe Police Department, Montgomery County Constables Precincts 1 and 2, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Montgomery County Hospital District. The safe recovery of the victim and the apprehension of a dangerous suspect demonstrates our shared responsibility to protect our community."
