Montgomery County Deputies and HPD Arrest Two, Seize Stolen and Modified Firearms in Joint Operation
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- On April 10, 2025, deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) assisted the Houston Police Department’s North Belt Crime Suppression Team with an active investigation in Montgomery County targeting known fugitives and felons.
During the operation, HPD officers were conducting surveillance on suspects in the area when a coordinated traffic stop was initiated. The stop led to the arrest of two individuals and the recovery of four firearms.
Among the recovered weapons:
• One firearm confirmed stolen out of Tennessee.
• Two firearms illegally modified with “Glock switches,” a prohibited device that converts semi-automatic pistols into fully automatic machine guns.
All firearms were seized and will be tested to determine if they are connected to any other crimes.
Two suspects were arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail without incident. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to working alongside our law enforcement partners to ensure the safety of our communities.
Arrested Individuals:
Montreal Dwayne Frye Jr., 20 years of age
Charge: Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (Felony)
Bond: $100,000.00
Jocquez Dwmayne Frye, 17 years of age
Charges: Harris County Warrant – Larceny (Felony), Possession of a Prohibited Weapon (F3)
Bond: $6,000.00
Sheriff Wesley Doolittle stated:
“I’m proud of the work our deputies did alongside HPD. This is exactly what strong law enforcement partnerships look like. Together, we’re sending a clear message: if you threaten the safety of our residents, we will find you, and we will hold you accountable. Criminals in Montgomery County will be met with zero tolerance.
We will continue working hand-in-hand with our local, state, and federal partners to keep dangerous individuals off the streets and ensure our communities remain safe places to live, work, play, pray, and raise a family.” We commend the coordinated efforts of the Houston Police Department’s North Belt Crime Suppression Team and our deputies for their professionalism and dedication in getting these dangerous weapons and the individuals carrying them off our streets.
