Businesswoman brilliantly births a baby-related brainchild

THE WOODLANDS, TX – For nearly two decades, Angela Strong has been a financial force in The Woodlands area, being the Managing Shareholder & CEO of A Strong CPA, LLC, Certified Public Accountants.
A resident and active community leader in The Woodlands, she started her own firm in 2008. Her experience includes providing tax advice, compliance, and consulting including entity structure and planning for businesses and individual clients. She also has experience in managing complex individual, partnership, corporate, estate, fiduciary, gift, and not-for-profit tax returns as well as managing audit, review, and compilation engagements.
Beyond being a tax-savvy maven, Angela has always been a firm believer in family unity; she has been happily married to her husband, Bret Strong, since 2010 and they share three children, Luke, Ella, and Kate.
It’s this love of family – combined with her considerable business acumen – that inspired Angela to start a new business, Nestling® Baby, which provides upscale fashions for newborns and babies. The business will sell its goods both online and in a pop-up shop in Market Street.
“As a mother of three I wanted to create a durable, soft, timeless line that simplifies the multiple daily outfit changes that are so common in the early stages. All of the designs are curated from a similar color pallet so that they can be mixed and matched effortlessly while allowing your little one to look put together,” she told Woodlands Online in an exclusive interview.
Angela started the concept a few years ago with some hand drawings, then flew with a friend to Peru to source the fabrics and hire a manufacturing facility. “I knew I wanted to use Pima cotton and they have the absolute best,” she said. “From there, the manufacturing team did much of the heavy lifting and have been beyond instrumental in getting off the ground. They believed in my concept and design and have been such a great partner. And now, Woodlands Stylehouse is helping me with the storefront and launch and of course we have a fantastic IT team that handles the online presence and digital shopping experience.”
The store is branded and designed with Angela’s vision for the overall feel and the execution by the talented Leah Ford with Woodlands Stylehouse. This pop-up shop will be open May 8 - 15 in the space across from Uni Sushi under the Audrey Marquee at Market Street.
One would think that heading a massively successful accounting firm would fill enough of her hours, but Angela is taking the double duty of two businesses in stride.
“I thrive with a full plate. My mind is never still and I do my best work when the calendar is full. This brand is a little easier to lead because once I create the designs, our team handles the rest. In contrast, my full time CPA firm requires me to be available daily and most clients want to talk directly with me. Selling a product requires less of my daily time and more of my time creating ideas, which is the part I love – getting to use the side of my brain that loves art and to create,” she told Woodlands Online.
Her creations exude softness, comfort, and cuteness, with everything from onesies, bibs, cloths and towels, pajamas, and full outfits.
“I would say if you have a newborn to 12 months, or know someone who does, you should come see the concept of mixing and matching layette pieces that are so soft and so sweet with each design thoughtfully curated and planned to coordinate together through the first year of so many firsts. They make excellent gifts too!” she said.
