BREAKING: Today is the last day to shop Kroger Sterling Ridge
THE WOODLANDS, TX – Though previous reports had stated that its last day of operations would be May 6, Woodlands Online learned today that the Kroger at the Sterling Ridge Shopping Center – 6700 Woodlands Parkway at Kuykendahl – is actually finalizing its business and selling the last of its inventory today.
“We’re actually closing tomorrow,” a Kroger employee who declined to be identified told Woodlands Online.
Currently, most if not all of the inventory is marked at 50 percent off. While most shelves are bare, there is still inventory in the baking, dairy, deli, and sundries sections. It appears that the last of the store’s goods will be sold by this evening. All sales are final.
“We all have been offered and placed in jobs at other locations,” the employee told Woodlands Online.
‘Chef Irv’ – an in-house chef who has been a Woodlands mainstay for decades, assured Woodlands Online staff that, while he would be ‘traveling around some,’ he wasn’t leaving the township for good.
With the closing of this store, the remaining Krogers in the area are:
- Kroger Alden Bridge – 8000 Research Forest
- Kroger Cochran’s Crossing – 4747 Research Forest
- Kroger near Creekside Park – 24350 Kuykandahl in Tomball
Currently, The Woodlands Township Board of Directors is seeking community input for new grocery stores to come to the area, particularly the Grogan’s Mill Shopping Center currently under major renovation. Recently, it was announced that a Sprouts would move in to the former Randall’s space in Panther Creek Shopping Center.
