THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Join The Woodlands Township under the stars at the outdoor amphitheater at the Recreation Center at Rob Fleming Park, 6464 Creekside Forest Drive, on October 20, 2023 for the 2nd annual Sunset Cinema. This year’s film, Bee Movie, is in keeping with the theme of protecting native pollinators. This FREE event, hosted by The Woodlands Township Environmental Services Department, begins at 6:30 p.m. with Bee-themed booths and activities, followed by the movie at 7:30 p.m.

Bee Movie provides a fun introduction to the importance of pollinators in the global ecosystem. It demonstrates that without the existence of bees (and other pollinators) the world will cease to exist. A whopping 80% of US crops are dependent on bees. Without bees to pollinate plants, humans could starve. This DreamWorks animation features a little honeybee called Barry who makes this issue prominent through his longing for a better, more meaningful life in harmony with humans. This heart-felt movie will make you laugh, while emphasizing one of the most important environmental issues facing our ecosystem.

This family-friendly event will give attendees the opportunity to interact with local partners related to outdoor education and conservation. Come early and grab a bag of free popcorn. Lawn chairs, blankets and coolers are welcome. No glass, please.

Wear your best BEE costume and get a FREE flavored honey stick!
