CONROE, TX -- Conroe ISD was named the first-ever District of Distinction by the Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT) at the 25th Anniversary of its annual summer conference.

CTAT introduced the District of Distinction program to recognize Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs that meet exacting standards. This prestigious designation is open to all districts that meet the stringent guidelines set by the CTAT Board and executive committee.

Tally Jo Stout, the CTE Director for Conroe ISD said, “This award is a testament to the collective efforts of our students, teachers, administrators, and community/industry partners. While, we are very proud of this honor, it is not a final destination, but an inspiration to continue pushing the boundaries of excellence in career and technical education.”

During the three years she has served as the CTE Director for Conroe ISD, Stout has attributed the success of the program to “the foundation laid by countless educators before us and the unwavering support of our community” and pledges to “remain committed to empowering every student to realize their full potential through CTE.”

Conroe ISD offers CTE in the following areas: Agriculture Food and Natural Resources; Architecture and Construction; Arts, Audio Video Technology and Communication; Business, Marketing and Finance, Education and Training; Health Science; Hospitality and Tourism; Human Services; Information Technology; Law and Public Service; Manufacturing; STEM; and Transportation, Distribution and Logistics.

The Career and Technical Association of Texas (CTAT) is committed to advancing excellence in career and technical education (CTE). CTE programs statewide are empowering students to thrive in their chosen career paths. Guided by CTAT members, these programs flourish and achieve standards that were once only aspirations. CTE administrators uphold rigorous expectations for teachers, students, and program effectiveness.
