Huntsville State Park will host Zombie Survival Game Night Oct. 25
THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Texas of Department Parks and Wildlife has announced a slew of spooky-themed events around state parks throughout the Lone Star State, and Huntsville State Park is on the list.
On Friday, October 25, from 7 - 9 p.m., join park personnel for an interactive game learning about survival essentials in a post-apocalyptic world.
“It is time to abandon camp. Players will gather what supplies they can before making the night-time trek to a new camp. Along the way, there will be obstacles. Did you pack what you need to survive? Will luck see you through? Or will you join the hordes roaming the woods?” ask the organizers of the Zombie Survival Game Night.
The activity will teach about the ten essentials to have in a survival situation, allowing players to see the importance of planning ahead and preparing for what they might encounter. Included will be a point-two-mile hike along the Loblolly Trail at night, with flashlights and/or headlamps encouraged. There will be other activities and tips and tricks for survival at camp.
This family-friendly program is low activity and mostly accessible, with a small hike through the woods, and is weather-dependent. Interested parties are encouraged to keep updated through the department’s social media page at https://www.facebook.com/HuntsvilleSP.
