Woodlands Online co-moderates 2024 Candidate Forum

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The 2024 Candidate Forum, produced in partnership between The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce Business Advocacy Council, Community Impact, and Woodlands Online, took place on Thursday, October 17 at Sam Houston State University in The Woodlands area.

More than 100 people attended the event, which was co-moderated by Nicole Preston, general manager for Community Impact - The Woodlands, and Sean K. Thompson, news editor for Woodlands Online. The forum was a moderated debate of candidates for The Woodlands Township Board of Directors (Positions 1, 2, 3, and 4) and Conroe Independent School District (Positions 4, 5, 6, and 7). In total, 15 candidates showed up of the 18 invited.

Rounds of questions were given to the candidates based on their personal platforms and statements as well as the positions sought. Topics included growth of the Township and the school district, budgeting issues, candidates’ experience, and the future of the area.
