Meals on Wheels Montgomery County seeks donations for Stockings for Seniors program

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Meals on Wheels Montgomery County has initiated an innovative donation program for the holidays. With Stockings for Seniors, members of the community can bring joy to homebound seniors with holiday gifts.

It’s easy to participate in this program. Interested parties are encouraged to choose four items from a list of requested items and place them in a reusable shopping bag. Meals on Wheels requests that all gifts are placed in bags with handles, as stockings are difficult for volunteers to deliver.

The deadline for drop-off of donations is Friday, December 13 at Meals on Wheels headquarters, 111 South 2nd Street, Conroe, TX 77301, Mondays through Fridays, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Items particularly needed include:

• Fuzzy slipper socks with non-slip soles
• Window bird feeder or windchimes
• Ornaments
• Pop-up lantern (battery operated)
• Mini first aid kit
• Pillow cases (set of 2)
• Cooling towels
• AA or AAA batteries
• 2025 Calendar
• Greeting cards, pens, and stamps
• Insulated cup with handles
• Puzzle books (large print, notepad)
• Battery-operated fan
• Pill case
• Hands-free magnifying glass
• Bath set
• Shoe horn
