February election process underway

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The process has begun for the 2025 February Election for The Woodlands Residential Design Review Committees and Village Associations with the opening of filing on December 26, 2024. Filing closes on January 16, 2025, for the election to be held on February 15, 2025.

Are you interested in running for office?
Filing for Residential Design Review Committee and Village Association offices continues until 5 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2025. Filing forms and information can be obtained from The Woodlands Township website (thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov) or The Woodlands Township Town Hall, 2801 Technology Forest Blvd. No forms will be accepted after the 5 p.m. deadline on January 16. Candidates who are interested in running, but do not file by the deadline will be able to run as a write-in candidate only if they file as such by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Specific questions regarding the elections can be directed to Laure Morgan or Karen Dempsey at 281-210-3800. Filing is open to residents and property owners in The Woodlands, age 18 and over. Positions require residency and/or property ownership in specific villages and interested individuals should refer to the appropriate Bylaws and Covenants for eligibility requirements.

New Filing Option – Online Filing Form – Available for February Election Filing
An Online Filing Form is available for filing for positions in the February Election. Candidates may access the Online Filing Form during the filing period only - beginning at 8:30 a.m. on December 26, 2024, and ending at 5 p.m. January 16, 2025 – at the following link: thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/februaryelection.

Candidates will complete the required information, choose the position, sign the form, and then submit the form. Candidates will receive a confirmation email upon submission of the form.

Plan to vote!
All voting for the Residential Design Review Committees and Village Associations will take place at The Woodlands Township Town Hall, located at 2801 Technology Forest Blvd.

Convenience voting: Monday, February 10, through Friday, February 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Election Day: Saturday, February 15, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Reminder: For any Residential Design Review Committee or Village Association that does not have a contested race as of 5 p.m. on January 22, the entity’s election will be cancelled and the seating and/or filling of vacancies will proceed in accordance with the entity’s bylaws. A list of contested and cancelled elections will be posted on the Township website prior to the start of early voting.
