The Woodlands Children’s Museum’s Celebrates the Year of the Snake During Annual Lunar New Year Event and Parades

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Celebrate the Year of the Snake on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 10:00am-2:00pm with interactive cultural art projects and dynamic Lion Dance performances.

This vibrant celebration will transform the museum, adorning it with colorful decorations and filling the air with lively sounds. Dedicated to enlightening young minds, the experience will immerse children in the rich tapestry of Asian culture and traditions. Through engaging activities, we will joyfully commemorate the Year of the Snake, which in the Asian belief system embodies profound wisdom, intuitive understanding, and transformative potential. This revered symbol of intelligence and charm is often associated with grace, elegance, and an air of enigmatic mystery.

“Our Lunar New Year celebration highlights the value of embracing diversity. We encourage children to appreciate the many different and fascinating aspects of Asian cultures while exploring the unique contributions of varied customs,” stated Angela Colton, the museum’s Executive Director.

With a dedication to preserving the traditional Asian art of the Lion Dance, the Houston Lion Kings will be dressed in their spectacular theatrical lion costumes for photo opportunities and four parades at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm and 1:30pm.
