Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management unveils state-of-the-art Mobile Operations Center
THE WOODLANDS, TX – Jason Millsaps, the executive director of the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, recently announced the unveiling of the department’s new Mobile Operations Center.
This latest addition to the department’s arsenal of emergency management equipment is a cutting-edge resource designed to support emergency response, enhance public safety, and provide critical capabilities when and where they’re needed most.
“She’s been on the job for a few days and is already deployed to support law enforcement operations in The Woodlands for several large events this weekend,” Millsaps said in a statement on the department’s official social media.
The wheeled high-tech command post is a fully equipped mobile unit that can be deployed directly to the scene of an emergency, major event, or disaster. It ensures that responders have the tools, space, and connectivity they need to coordinate efforts in real time, even in the most challenging situations.
“This advanced mobile unit gives Montgomery County the flexibility to respond faster, smarter, and safer. Whether it’s a large-scale incident, a planned public event, or a natural disaster, the MOC brings essential coordination and communication tools directly to the field,” said Millsaps on social media.
Key features of the MOC include four fully equipped workstations for Incident Command to manage operations; two dedicated dispatch terminals for direct communication with first responders and public safety partners, a high-definition camera mast to provide 360° visibility of the incident scene, a tethered drone system for aerial surveillance and situational awareness, and a secure on-board conference room to support sensitive planning and briefings.
“This is a fantastic addition to allow us to enhance our public safety response,” Millsaps told Woodlands Online. “Not only is this a tremendous resource locally, but it positions us to positively impact issues and disasters across the state.”
