TOMBALL, TX -- Lee Ann Nutt, Ed.D., Lone Star College-Tomball President, believes in four key values: community, connection, learning and leadership. She will use these tenets to serve as a newly appointed member of the American Association of Community College’s (AACC) Structured Pathways Commission.

“Working with the American Association of Community Colleges gives Lone Star College first-hand, immediate insight into the challenges and solutions facing community colleges,” said Nutt. “Serving on the Structured Pathways Commission provides Lone Star College the opportunity to contribute to the national conversation on student success.”

Nutt’s appointment to the Structured Pathways Commission connects with the Designer in Residence Grant that LSC-Tomball recently received, which addresses pathways and equity in dual credit. Nutt plans to elevate LSC’s lifePATH® Program nationwide while serving on the commission. lifePATH®, which started at LSC-Tomball in 2015, is a four-year program that provides academic, social and career skills to neurodiverse students.

“Serving on this commission will provide a platform for us to share what the lifePATH® Program has done for this underserved population and to help other colleges replicate the model,” said Nutt.

Nutt has more than 20 years of experience in community college leadership. She has attended AACC events since 2015, including the Annual Convention, High Performance Team Training and the new CEO Academy. Nutt served on AACC’s Special Commission on Leadership and Professional Development from 2015-2017, gave over 20 presentations at the annual conventions and was a presenter at the AACC Future Presidents Institute in 2022.

The AACC’s Structured Pathways Commission focuses on strategies to advance community college pathways across systems, states and nationally. It coincides with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Strategic Plan to streamline student pathways to credentials of value through course and program redesign.
