Storm Recovery Covenant Requirements
To assist residents in the recovery process, The Woodlands Township Covenant Administration Department has adjusted some of the application and deposit requirements through September 30, 2024, to allow for residents to make repairs to their properties in an expedited manner.

  • Tree Removal Application: If a tree or trees are leaning on an owner's lot and/or considered hazardous to residents, owners will be allowed to remove them without having to apply. Please document the damaged/hazardous trees in case proof is needed.
  • Roofs: Residents still need to apply if replacing an entire roof unless the roof is being repaired with like kind roofing, then there will be no need to apply. A roof application is required if repairing/replacing a roof that is different than the existing roof. These applications will be expedited.
  • Fence Repairs and Replacement: If a fence is in disrepair on an owner's lot, owners will be allowed to replace them without having to apply, so long as it is in compliance with the allowed height, style and other requirements as set forth in the neighborhood criteria. Entire fence replacement for pool barriers, will require an application and third-party inspection for code compliance and must be applied for by September 30, 2024.
  • Compliance Deposits: Compliance deposits will be waived during this time for those making repairs following the storm. Applications for minor repairs will be expedited to assist people trying to make emergency repairs. Third Party Code inspections will still be required. Casualty / Damage repairs which are considered to be major, will be processed as normal to ensure repairs are done in compliance with all Standards and Code requirements.

Village Meetings
Due to storm recovery efforts, the following village association meetings have cancelled: Panther Creek (July 11) and Grogan’s Mill (July 15).

Residential Design Review Committee meetings for this week have also been cancelled.

County Assistance for Storm Recovery Debris Removal
The Woodlands Township is not responsible for storm debris pickup. Waste Management will not pickup your storm debris unless it complies with their curbside guidelines. Each county precinct will provide storm debris removal. Residents must submit a Debris Removal Request form to either Harris or Montgomery County depending on your county of residence. It is a requirement to complete this form.

Harris County Debris Removal Request Form: https://harriscoprod.service-now.com/home?id=sc_cat_item&sys_id=98a6498687bee510d16e64a83cbb3509

Montgomery County Debris Removal Request Form: https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/d29e232a390c4c499fa77a130f7c4c7d?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR1QFvSkJl2jS9ttyp10kknnIllEvmNoAM8ygplljXQmYb4u7gh4nia3A3U_aem_szcc4oroFL2_lQyvSeyU6A

Storm debris may be placed curbside on the county right-of-way, however, before placing it curbside you MUST separate yard/vegetative debris (tree limbs/branches, pine needles, etc.) from *construction debris (fencing, drywall, etc.). Once you have separated the debris, you may place the yard/vegetative debris curbside on the county right-of-way. Do not place debris in the road or in ditches. This impedes traffic and impacts drainage. Debris will NOT be collected from private property. *Construction and any debris that is not yard/vegetative will not be removed by the county. The homeowner/property owner is responsible for removing this type of debris.
