THE WOODLANDS, TX – Nearly 250,000 Montgomery County voters cast their ballots in early voting over the past two weeks, according to data released by the Montgomery County Elections Commission. This significantly beats the previous record for early voters by several thousand.

The tone was set on the first day of early voting on October 21, when an all-time first-day high of 135,565 ballots were cast. The trend continued – with Sunday, October 27 being the only slow-down of turnout – until the final tallies were totaled with 249,526 votes being cast. This number includes 9.736 mail-in ballots.

By comparison to other presidential elections – by far the catalyst for large voter turnouts – the Trump/Biden match-up of 2020 counted approximately 236,500 votes during early voting, and the 2016 election that featured Trump’s defeat of Hillary Clinton saw only 154,646 early-voting ballots cast.

With early voting concluded, voters must cast their ballots on Tuesday, Election Day. In Montgomery County, voters must go to their precinct polling location during the hours of 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.; of course, people are encouraged to line up early, and Woodlands Online reminds you that you can cast your vote after 7 p.m. as long as you are in the line before that deadline. Montgomery County residents can find their polling locations at the Montgomery County Elections website at www.elections.mctx.org.

Woodlands residents living in Harris County can rest assured that they can vote in any of the county polling locations regardless of precinct, with the same time constraints and extensions. Polling locations can be found at www.harrisvotes.org.
