Important Transit Schedule Updates
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Starting Monday, November 11, 2024, The Woodlands Express Park and Ride service will implement key schedule adjustments to improve timing and convenience for passengers. These updates will primarily affect the Research Forest and Sterling Ridge schedule, while the Sawdust schedule will remain unchanged, save for the incorporation of the Energy Corridor into the main schedule for ease of reference. We are also excited to offer additional stops on the Energy Corridor Route and reintroduce the reverse commute service and schedule, which was temporarily suspended during the pandemic.
Research Forest Schedule Adjustments
- The 3:40 p.m. and 3:50 p.m. departures from downtown will now be combined into a single departure at 3:45 p.m.
- The 5:28 p.m. departure from the Medical Center has been adjusted to 5:35 p.m. to more accurately reflect the run time.
- The 6 p.m. departure from downtown has been adjusted to 6:10 p.m. with a final arrival time to the Research Forest Park & Ride at 7:10 p.m., to more accurately reflect the run time.
Sterling Ridge Schedule Addition
- An additional bus will be added with a 3:30 p.m. departure from downtown, arriving at the Sterling Ridge Park & Ride at 4:30 p.m.
Sawdust Schedule Update
While the Sawdust schedule remains unchanged, Energy Corridor time points will now be integrated into the regular Sawdust schedule for passenger convenience. We have added an additional 2 stops along the Energy Corridor route, with one located at MD Anderson and the other located at Fluor Corp. Please see revised map for details on all stops within Energy Corridor at woodlandstransit.com.
Reintroduction of “Reverse Commute” Schedule
The Woodlands Express is pleased to announce the reinstatement of its reverse commute service. This service, which was paused during the COVID-19 pandemic, provides more options for commuters to travel between the destinations The Woodlands Express buses serve and the park and rides.
About the Reverse Commute:
The reverse commute service uses "turn-around" buses that travel back and forth between The Woodlands and the service districts. These buses start picking up passengers at the final stops of the regular routes, including park-and-ride locations, and take them back as a return trip.
Please note that only certain buses provide this service. Since it is limited to these "turn-around" buses, riders should check schedules and stop locations carefully. We recommend arriving at your stop at least 10 minutes before the listed pick-up time, as traffic patterns may affect the bus schedule. Reverse commute arrival times are approximate.
The Woodlands Express is excited to introduce these changes that enhance our service to help meet riders’ transit needs. For additional information, please visit woodlandstransit.com. Riders can also request service maps, or an updated schedule, including reverse commute schedules, from the park and ride attendant. Thank you for choosing The Woodlands Express!
