Spirit of Giving Sparks Vast Community Impact
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX -- Montgomery County Food Bank (MCFB) held its annual holiday food and funds drive, Holiday Helpings, from November 1 through December 31, 2024, presented by Waste Connections. Montgomery County residents, businesses, civic organizations, and schools united to help the Food Bank fight hunger during the holiday season. Thanks to the support from the 2024 Holiday Helpings Food and Funds Drive, Montgomery County Food Bank can provide more than 310,000 nutritious meals to those in need.
The Montgomery County community participated in Holiday Helpings in a variety of ways, including:
- Sponsorship – Top sponsors included Presenting Sponsor, Waste Connections, and Spirit of Giving Sponsors, Civitas Resources, Scott Law Firm, Social Indoor, US Anesthesia Partners and Woodforest National Bank.
- Funds Drive Host – Participating locations received Donation Plate cards, featuring a QR code that allowed their company's network of customers, clients, employees, etc. to make a donation directly to the Food Bank. Every $1 raised provides up to four meals.
- Food Drive Host – Participants were encouraged to collect Montgomery County Food Bank’s most needed food items to help fight hunger for countless children, seniors and families throughout Montgomery County.
Kristine Marlow, President and CEO of Montgomery County Food Bank weighs in on Holiday Helpings results: “We are blown away by the generosity of our community during the recent holiday season. The critical resources collected will provide hope for those in need and it’s truly inspiring to see the Food Bank’s mission in action as we unite the community to fight hunger.”
