THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Waste Management has informed the Township that there will be NO COLLECTION services on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. If you are a Tuesday customer, please DO NOT PLACE YOUR CONTAINERS CURBSIDE until Wednesday. High winds are expected as the storm moves into our area this evening. These winds may cause curbside containers to fall over or shift, creating potential hazards for first responders and other vehicles.

Weather permitting, Waste Management plans to resume service on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, with a delayed start. Residents should anticipate at least a *one-day delay in service, beginning with Tuesday customers. Additional collection updates will be shared as they are made available.

The Woodlands Recycling Center will be closed on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. It will reopen on Saturday during its regular operating hours.

Town Center Trolley operations will end at 8 p.m. today, January 20, 2025, and will not run tomorrow, January 21, 2025. Additionally, as previously announced, The Woodlands Express will also not operate tomorrow.

As a reminder, icy conditions are expected on the roads throughout the day tomorrow, January 21, 2025. Temperatures are not expected to rise above freezing, with lows dipping into the low 20s. Please stay indoors and avoid driving.

Residents should be aware that freezing conditions can cause pipes to freeze or burst. If a pipe bursts, immediately turn off your water and contact a plumber or your water provider for assistance:

The Woodlands Fire Department encourages residents to exercise caution when heating their homes during this freeze. Use heaters designed for indoor use and never operate a generator indoors, as this can lead to dangerous carbon monoxide buildup.

If a layer of ice forms on area ponds or pools, remember it is not safe to walk on—appearances can be deceptive, and the ice will not be strong enough to support weight. For those planning to enjoy the snow, dress warmly in layers, and limit your time outdoors to avoid exposure to the cold.

The Township is closely monitoring weather conditions. Updates on Wednesday services and facilities, including the regularly scheduled Board of Directors meeting, will be shared on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, once decisions are made based on the latest weather information.
