Walmart invests millions in Texas stores, including several Woodlands area locations

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Walmart has announced that it has deepened its commitment to Texas by investing in local stores, empowering associates and enriching the communities it serves every day. Today, Walmart unveiled details of 67 planned store remodels this year in Texas and new investments focused on enhancing the associate experience and community engagement. Several Woodlands-area locations are beneficiaries of this program.
"Our stores often serve as the heartbeat of the communities we operate in, and these remodels are a testament to our dedication to enhancing that role, said Paul Lewellen, Senior Vice President, Southwest Business Unit Operations. “By investing in our stores and associates, we are not only improving the shopping experience but also reinforcing our commitment to being a vital part of the community’s fabric, helping to build a brighter future for all.”
This year, Walmart has set an ambitious goal to remodel more than 650 stores across the U.S., including 67 stores in Texas. Prior to 2025, Walmart invested over $2.6 billion to upgrade stores throughout Texas in the past five years.
As part of the remodels, they will re-image the in-store shopping experience with updates throughout the store, including: new big, bold signage; more selections in expanded departments; expanding online pickup and delivery; and rethinking the pharmacy with wider aisles, new private screen rooms, and privacy checkout areas.
The local Walmarts that are part of this initiative include the ones at:
- 10001 Woodlands Pkwy, The Woodlands
- 25800 Kuykendahl Rd, Tomball
- 21150 Kuykendahl Rd, Spring
- 155 Louetta Xing, Spring
- 10411 N Freeway 45, Houston
- 1025 Sawdust Rd, Spring
The store remodels are subject to change based on construction schedules and other factors.
