Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas North American Championship Triathlon Extended Through 2030

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- IRONMAN, Visit The Woodlands, and The Woodlands Township have agreed to a five-year partnership renewal to keep the longstanding Memorial Hermann IRONMAN® Texas North American Championship triathlon in The Woodlands through 2030. The agreement will benefit communities, event participants, businesses, and nonprofits in the region.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Visit The Woodlands for another five years,” said Scott Langen, Vice President, Operations - North America for IRONMAN. “The Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas North American Championship triathlon holds a special place not only in my heart, but in hearts of this community and the athletes who come year after year to conquer this course. We look forward to continuing to build on what we have created here in The Woodlands since it was first launched in 2011. It is truly remarkable to see the dedication that the local authorities, volunteers, and fans bring to create an exceptional race experience for our athletes here in this great Texas community.”
The event offers thousands of volunteer opportunities for residents throughout the entire region to participate. Additionally, The IRONMAN Foundation has been providing over $100,000 annually to local charities, with a total of $1.6 million in historical giveback in the area.
“We’re pleased to have the renewal of the Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas race right here in The Woodlands,” said Brad Bailey, Chairman of the Board, The Woodlands Township. “This event not only puts The Woodlands on a world-wide stage for quality and commitment to a great place, it also brings out thousands of our residents who either participate, volunteer and cheer on participants in this grueling competition to be the fastest in various categories or just to finish.”
The 2025 Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas North American Championship triathlon will take place this Saturday, April 26 and leads athletes on a Texas sized journey through portions of Montgomery and Harris County capping off with a spectacular finish line experience on Waterway Avenue in The Woodlands. The event begins with a 2.4-mile point-to-point swim inside Lake Woodlands beginning at North Shore Park before embarking on a 112-mile two-loop bike that traverses portions of the Hardy Toll Road. The 26.2-mile marathon run allows athletes to soak in one of the most spirited spectator-lined courses on the IRONMAN circuit, with athletes racing through Hippie Hollow—an area lined with tie-dye banners, twinkling lights, and costumed performers. Approximately 2,500 Age-group athletes will compete alongside the professionals on the same course, looking to earn qualifying slots to the 2025 IRONMAN World Championship® triathlons with the men’s race being held in Nice, France on 14 Sept. and women’s race being held in Kona, Hawai`i on the 11 Oct.
“The Woodlands is the perfect setting for this world-class event,” said Nick Wolda, President of Visit The Woodlands. “We’re known around the world as an incredible place to live, but this event demonstrates we’re an incredible place to visit and conduct business.
