Girls Academy Champions Cup Finals 2025

This year’s 2025 Champions Cup Finals were a success for the HTX Soccer Girls Academy, as they competed at the IMG Academy complex in Bradenton, FL this week. The HTX 07 GA team emerged as Champions Cup National Champions, while the HTX 10 GA team made an impressive run to the final, showcasing remarkable performances in their first three games.
All six HTX Girls Academy teams earned their spot in the finals through their outstanding performances during the 2023/24 season and at a qualification event in Norco, California last December. The Champions Cup Finals featured the country’s top 16 GA clubs in each age group, competing in an exciting, single-elimination format that attracted over 300 college coaches and U.S. national team scouts.
HTX Soccer had an exceptional showing, with the 07 GA, 10 GA, and 12 GA teams finishing 1st, 2nd, and 4th, respectively. Teams that were eliminated continued to play in consolation matches, offering further opportunities to showcase their talents to college recruiters and U.S. Soccer scouts in attendance. Overall, HTX GA posted a record of 16 wins and 8 losses, securing 4th place in the GA Champions Club rankings. For detailed team records, click here.
"The opportunity to play at this level has been a dream come true. All the hours we’ve dedicated have finally paid off. The memories and lessons I have gained from this experience are like no other," said Ella Davis, 07 GA. "The friendship, determination and standard we held each other at this event was remarkable, it was the best moment of my career."
"I am beyond proud of this team and of what we accomplished by playing with heart, trust and courage. We have been knocking on the door for years and finally kicked it down! It doesn’t get any better than winning a championship with your best friends," said Sophia Saludares, Co-Captain of 07 GA. "The magnitude of this moment is starting to sink in and I can say that after facing years of adversity, this is truly a sweet victory. This championship is the culmination of countless hours of training and ability to remain resilient despite difficulties such as injuries, building team chemistry, adjusting to a new tactical style of play, etc. I am grateful to my teammates, coaches, staff, family and the HTX GA teams for coming out to support us.”
"I couldn’t be prouder of this team for winning the Champions Cup. We gave everything we had, and we made history together," said Jasmine Diaz, Co-Captain 07 GA. "As incredible as this victory is, it’s bittersweet knowing this exact group will never be together again. That’s why I’m so grateful to have fought, laughed, and grown with these amazing teammates. This journey was something truly beautiful, and I’ll cherish it forever."
"Champions Cup Finals is my favorite GA event all year because it’s a fun and competitive environment to be involved," said Kiana Puna, 10 GA. "The event gives a lot of good exposure to high-level colleges and the national team. I want to thank the HTX coaches for getting us well prepared to perform at a high level and especially Coach Hiro for his inspirational quote 'Nothing to lose and everything to prove.' Our team bonded having fun on and off the field, making it to the finals."
"Thank you to the Girls Academy for hosting such an incredible event. I have watched previous versions of the event on the live stream but to experience it in person, for the first time, exceeded my expectations. Once you are submersed in the environment on day 1, it makes the ambition to succeed even greater," said Andy Squire, Girls Director. "I’d like to congratulate all our HTX teams and players on their performance across 24 games in 6 days of competition. We had three teams eliminated in extra time on golden goal, then bounced back well in the consolation games to elevate the club’s overall standing in the Club Championship. That showed great character, especially our 08 team who were battling fatigue and injuries. To have a team reach the semi-final and two teams make the final is an incredible accomplishment. It’s a testament to the work the players and staff dedicate to this program every day. I want to thank the parents for their support and commitment to our program. It’s still too early to put into words what winning the U19 GA Champions Cup means to this team and our club… in the days and weeks to come, their story will be told, and they are beyond worthy of all the praise and gratitude coming their way.”
"We are so thankful for the outstanding performance from our Girls Academy program at the GA Champions Cup. Great dedication from the coaches, amazing support from the parents, and tremendous playing from the girls, said Randy Evans, Technical Director. Every team won at least two games, highlighted by our 07 GA team winning the Champions Cup without conceding a goal. It took us 20 years to win our first national championship and only eight months later to win our first Champions Cup national title. I’m so proud of them of all the teams that represented the club in such a professional manner."
