THE WOODLANDS, TX – For those who fear change, you’re in luck; once again, we’re in for yet another weekend of mostly sunny days with high temperatures in the 100s. Even nighttime doesn’t bring too much relief as the overnight lows – which actually hit just before dawn of each next morning – hover around 80. If you didn’t give your outdoor AC unit a tuneup recently, you may wish to seriously consider it now.

Unfortunately, it’s more of the same for this weekend

Today, we won’t hit 100 until around 2 o’clock this afternoon – with a heat index of 107 – so you can enjoy lunch in relative comfort. Around that time, however, a plummeting humidity and dropping pressure will work to chap the lips and cook the unprotected skin as we head to a ‘natural’ high temp of 105. If you grownups are wanting some quality alone time without the kiddos, drop them off at Maximum Athletics for an Open Gym / Parents Night Out. As for later tonight, even at midnight it’ll still feel like it’s in the 90s, so think about sleeping under breathable cotton sheets.

Saturday will dawn bright and early, and we’ll hit our low temperature of the day at 7 in the morning; by 11 o’clock, we’ll be in the 90s and feeling like we’re in the 100s. In the afternoon, we’ll get some clouds meandering through, bolstered by southerly winds around 5 mph, which won’t do much to assuage the 104 high. It’s probably too hot to do any outside gardening or horticulture, but Right Next Door Designs has a daylong Flower bar where you get to create your own bouquets that won’t wilt before you can put them in a vase. It’ll be another warm night so don’t break out the fleece pajamas quite yet.

On Sunday, we’ll get some more clouds wandering through, which will actually and unfortunately help trap warmer air down near us, getting us to a high of 107 and five degrees tacked on to that with the heat index. Despite the heat, you can still enjoy a Date Night at Painting With a Twist, where you can bring your own bottle of wine and create your own art with a loved one. Unfortunately, we’ll stay in the 90s and 80s all night until the next morning.

As the work week commences, however, there may be some wet stuff on the way…

Stay tuned for weather updates from Woodlands Online, and be sure to check us out on Monday for our “Week Ahead” forecast.
