Family-friendly events this weekend in The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, TX – On any given weekend, there are so many amazing events for all ages throughout The Woodlands area that it may be hard to cull through them all to find one that’s specifically family friendly. Not to worry; Woodlands Online is here to help with a list of some things you can do this weekend with the entire family.

Friday

Truck or Treat at Community Fieldhouse
Face-painting, costume contests, and cars and trucks galore will be available for everyone at this amazing indoor/outdoor venue. Kiddos under 13 need to show up with an adult.

Bring Your Own Board Game Night at The Adventure Begins
Have a board game you just can't find the group for? Need to find a new board game for your collection? Come on out to Bring Your Own Board Game Night and find a new playgroup every Friday! This is a highly community-driven event, so check in with their community on our discord in the ‘#board-games-general channel’ for more information.

Halloween Open Gym at Maximum Athletics
This Open Gym night is the perfect time for your child to expend some energy after a long week of school. There will be games, open gym time, concessions, a costume contest, and PRIZES! This is a great time to learn a new skill… AND have some fun!

Trunk or Treat at the Branch Crossing YMCA
It’s time for Halloween at the Y, presented by Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands! This year’s event promises a fun-filled evening with outdoor activities including trunk-or-treating, carnival games, face painting, a bubble station, and a Glow Party Area complete with music and glow sticks. This free community event is open to all! They kindly ask that you bring a non-perishable food item to support our YMCA food pantry.


Saturday

2024 5K Cooley Costume Run & Superhero Dash
Run for a worthy cause with the Cancer Kiss My Cooley 5K and Superhero Dash at Paradigm Brewing in Tomball. This family-friendly event welcomes runners of all ages and skill levels. Our 5K features a chip-timed, certified course perfect for seasoned runners, while children aged 4-8 can enjoy the free Superhero Dash. Dress up as your favorite superhero and join the fun! DJ R Cole will be spinning tracks at the finish line of our 5K at Paradigm Brewery! Costumes are encouraged but not mandatory for both the 5K and the Superhero Dash. (Please ensure all costumes are family-friendly.)

Mr. Leo’s Halloween Puppet Show
Mr. Leo brings a fun-filled, imaginative puppet adventure that kids of all ages will love! Come to City Place for a special Halloween show with your favorite puppeteer and his puppet pals as we celebrate the spooky season together! Enjoy free performances at 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Texas Renaissance Festival - All Hallow’s Eve
Ghoulies and ghosties gather for a frightful delight as the Kingdom welcomes the Transylvanian court. Join the Halloween costume contest or the Kettle Korn eating contest for a chance to win ‘spook-tacular’ prizes!

Open House Admission Event at the John Cooper School
Want to see how The John Cooper School experience can transform your life? Inquire online to submit your contact information to gain access to the Open House event and tour registration. Meet administration, learn more about the admission process, experience the different divisions, and tour their state-of-the-art campus with current student tour guides!

10th Annual CISD Trunk or Treat
Join the fun for Conroe Independent School District’s 10th Annual Trunk or Treat! They will have more than 90 decorated vehicles/booths handing out candy to trick or treaters! This is a drive-through Trunk or Treat – kids stay in the car and they will hand candy through open windows. Held at Woodforest Bank Stadium.

Fall Festival at Woodlands Church
Celebrate community at Woodlands Church’s annual Fall Festival! Bring the whole family in their favorite costumes to experience the fun-filled festivities! Enjoy candy and games happening after every service the weekend of October 26 & 27. And with the family all together, don’t forget to grab some fun family photos at their fall photo areas.

Texas Renaissance Festival - All Hallow’s Eve

Trick or Treat Trail featuring Monster Mash
Princesses, pirates, ghosts and goblins are invited to don their costumes and enjoy a spooktacular celebration at the annual Trick or Treat Trail featuring Monster Mash at the Rob Fleming Recreation Center. While at the event, children have the opportunity to trick or treat from booth to booth and fill their bags with goodies from local vendors. The FREE event also includes strolling entertainment, carnival games, costume contests, photo areas, food trucks and more!
