Gentleman Graphics Studio receives three awards from Texas Crime Prevention Association

THE WOODLANDS, TX – A Montgomery County business is making statewide waves. Gentleman Graphics Studio, a local creative powerhouse founded by brothers Marcos and Carlos Tavarez, has been recognized with three prestigious awards from the Texas Crime Prevention Association (TCPA).

The Texas Crime Prevention Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1975 that is composed of law enforcement personnel and civilians who have an interest in crime prevention, community safety, neighborhood watch, loss prevention, security or citizens police academies. The organization provides continuous crime prevention related training to police and security professionals dedicated to making safer environments and communities.

The mission of TCPA is to encourage the prevention of crime through coordinated and concentrated efforts, and through programs and functions that encourage citizen involvement and participation, to preserve safe environments and communities for the citizens of Texas. The organization recently held its annual conference in College Station.

Gentleman Graphics Studio received the 2024 Outstanding Media Publication award for the ‘Day with a Deputy’ Children’s Activity Book, a project created in partnership with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. It also received the 2024 Outstanding Citizen Award for co-founder Carlos Tavarez in recognition of his exceptional community contributions. Finally, the company received the 2024 Outstanding Business Award for its ongoing collaboration with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, developing educational materials for children and the public.

The Tavarez brothers, originally from El Paso, moved to the local area in 2013 seeking a fresh start. Openly gay, they have tirelessly championed LGBTQ+ rights and served their communities through design and advocacy. Their dedication to social causes has fueled their creative work, evident in their collaborations with organizations like El Paso Sun City Pride, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, and the Animal Shelter Volunteers of Texas.

Gentleman Graphics Studio’s award-winning work, including the ‘Day with a Deputy’ activity book, underscores their commitment to promoting positive change and community safety. By leveraging their creative talents, they are making a tangible difference in the lives of children and families across Texas.
